As part of the collaborative work with consumer protection associations and in implementation of the 2023–2025 action plan established for this purpose, the Electricity and Gas Regulation Commission (CREG) organized two training sessions for the representatives of these associations. Each session lasted two days and was held on October 12–13, 2025, and October 15–16, 2025, at the Electricity and Gas Training Institute (IFEG-B) in Ben Aknoun.
Aimed at strengthening the technical and institutional capacities of the associations, the training focused on the fundamental principles governing the billing process, from meter reading operations to invoice issuance, for customers supplied with low-voltage electricity and low-pressure gas (LV/LP).
This event involved six (6) national associations, namely:
- The Algerian Organization for Consumer Protection and Guidance and its Environment (APOCE).
- The El-Aman Association for Consumer Protection “El Aman”.
- The Algerian Organization for Consumer Defense “HIMAYATEC”.
- The Algerian Consumers Federation (FAC).
- The National Union for Consumer Protection “UNPC”.
- The National Association for Guidance and Protection of Consumers in E-Commerce “ANOPCCE”.
The sessions provided a space for information sharing and discussion with the representatives of these associations, allowing them to better understand the meter reading and billing process, become familiar with the current tariff system, and learn how to read low-voltage electricity and low-pressure gas bills, while also gaining insight into the main features of the Customer Relationship Management System (CRMS).
This knowledge is intended to strengthen the technical capacities of consumer protection associations and help them improve their communication with consumers regarding billing matters.
